XS Power SuperBank Capacitors with over one million charge cycles offers an instantaneous surge of extremely high energy and recharge quickly for continuous performance.
XS Power SuperBank can help reduce the strain on batteries, helping them last longer. With a properly sized cap bank, you can minimize the effects of voltage loss on your electrical system and improve the overall efficiency of charge/discharge. Ultracaps can be very dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced user. For this reason, loose cells are no longer sold to general public as the SuperBank instantly removes the chance of incorrect assembly. The Installation of a fully assembled SuperBank is as simple and easy as installing a battery, and little to no risk of injury or damage during installation.
Product Description:
12V Super Capacitor Bank, Max Power 4,000W, 500 Farad
Operating Voltage: 12.0V – 16.2V
Operating Temperature: -40 – 150
Capacitance: 500F
Watt Hours: 18.2Wh
Max Amps: 10,000A
Weight: 5kg
We recommend a bank for every 2kW for music, and a minimum of one. And for every 4kW for burps. Obviously, the more you use, the less voltage drop you would see.
SB500 is equivalent in discharge power to a XE12-65, just without any capacity. So in other words, it’s good for one or two burps at 4,000W before it is completely dead. The advantage is that the charge up just as quickly as they discharge, so if you are using a battery and a cap together, you get the best of both worlds.
Available in 8 different cases. If you already have a XS Power XE or D Series battery you may want to optimize you installation possibilities by having the same case type battery. Example XE12-50 will be the same case as the SB500-47. Use the list below to identify which is the correct matching case to your existing XS Power battery. Its not essential to have the same case type but why fret when the options are there!
D5100 = SB500-51
D2400 = SB500-24
D6500 = SB500-65
D2700 = SB500-27
XE12-50 = SB500-47
XE12-60 = SB500-48
XE12-65 = SB500-34
XE12-80 = SB500-49
FAQs
Q: What are the benefits of using them?
A: Ultracaps can help reduce the strain on your batteries, helping them last longer. With a properly sized cap bank, you can minimize the effects of voltage loss on your electrical system and improve the overall efficiency of charge/discharge.
Q: Can I use only caps and no batteries?
A: Yes, but we do not recommend it because there are excellent benefits that both the cap and the battery can offer, so why not take advantage of both and save the most money? After over a year and a half of testing, our recommendation is to use one ultracap bank for every 50Ah of battery capacity for burps, or one ultracap bank for every 100-120Ah for music.
Q: What is an ultracap bank?
A: 6 cells must be used for a 12V bank (16.2V max), and 7 cells must be used for a 16V bank (18.9V max), as each cell is 2.7V each.
Q: Do we recommend these instead of batteries?
A: No, batteries are still the simplest and most affordable way to get the power you need for most users. However, for those who are serious about competition, ultracaps can help to increase SPL scores in short bursts or short duration.
Q: I already have some ultracaps from another company, can I use these in parallel with my other caps too?
A: Yes, but as with anything in SPL competition, the more consistency you can build into the system, the better.
